Refunds and cancellation.

1. Try before you pay

AITerm is free and fully functional for 7 days. No card, no account, no email. The point is that you know exactly what you are buying before any money moves.

If the app is not for you, do nothing. The trial ends by itself and you are never charged.

2. How to cancel

Open AITerm, click the licence badge at the bottom of the sidebar, then cancel. It takes one click and no conversation.

The same panel opens the Stripe billing portal, where you can update your card, change your billing address and download every receipt. If you have lost access to the app, email hello@aiterm.app from the address you used at checkout and it gets cancelled for you.

3. What happens after you cancel

• The next renewal is stopped. Nothing is charged again.
• Your access runs to the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling on day 2 of a month still gives you the remaining 28 days.
• Nothing on your Mac is deleted, moved or locked. Projects, settings, history and transcripts are local files and they stay exactly where they are.
• Change your mind before the period ends and you can resume the subscription from the same panel.
• Subscribe again months later and everything is still there. There is no data to migrate back.

4. When we refund

Because the app is priced at 9.99 euros and the trial is genuinely free, refunds are simple rather than legalistic.

• First payment, within 14 days: full refund on request, no questions asked, no reason required.
• A renewal you did not intend: if you were charged for a new month you meant to cancel and you have not used the app since that charge, ask within 14 days and it is refunded.
• Charged twice, or charged after cancelling: refunded in full, always. Tell us and it is fixed.
• The app does not work on your machine and we cannot fix it: refunded in full, whatever the date.

Outside those cases, a month already used is not refunded. Cancelling mid-month does not trigger a partial refund, because you keep the access you paid for until the period ends.

5. Right of withdrawal

Under article L221-18 of the French Code de la consommation, consumers normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content supplied immediately, article L221-28 provides that this right no longer applies once supply has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that the right is lost. At checkout, your licence key is issued immediately, so that is the situation you are in.

The 14-day refund described in section 4 is given voluntarily, on top of the law, and it covers the same window. In practice you have the same 14 days you would have had, plus a 7-day free trial before that.

None of this affects your legal guarantee of conformity if the software is defective. That is covered in the terms of service.

6. How a refund is paid back

The subscription is sold by Stripe as merchant of record, so the refund is issued by Stripe to the payment method you used. Card refunds usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. Any tax collected is refunded with it.

When a payment is refunded, the licence key attached to it stops working. The app returns to its unlicensed state and your local files are untouched.

7. Failed payments

If a renewal fails, Stripe retries it over the following days and emails you. If it still fails, the subscription ends and the app asks for a licence again. Nothing is lost: fix the card, subscribe again, and the same setup is waiting for you.

8. How to ask

Email hello@aiterm.app from the address you used at checkout, or use the contact form with the billing topic. Include your licence key if you still have it. One person reads that inbox and answers.

You do not need to justify yourself, argue, or sit through a retention flow. There is no retention flow.
