Terms of service.

The agreement between you and the person who wrote AITerm. It covers the trial, the licence, the subscription and the limits on both sides. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Last updated: 3 August 2026 Version: 1.0

The short version

Free for 7 days, no card. Then 9.99 euros per month for one Mac at a time. Cancel in the app in one click, keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

You may use AITerm at work and on client projects. You may not resell it, share your key or work around the licence check. Everything you do with your agents is your responsibility, because they run on your machine with your permissions.

1. Who you are contracting with

There are two contracts, and it is worth separating them.

  • The licence to use AITerm is between you and Jordane Sanson, sole trader, identified on the legal notice. That is what this page governs.
  • The sale of the subscription is between you and Stripe, which acts as merchant of record. Stripe takes the payment, applies the tax, issues your receipt and handles payment disputes, under Stripe's own terms shown at checkout.

Downloading, installing or using AITerm means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not install it.

2. The licence

Subject to payment and to these terms, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide licence to install and use AITerm on one Mac at a time, for as long as your subscription is active.

Activating your key on another Mac moves the seat to that machine. Nothing to uninstall, and no need to ask us. You may do this as often as you genuinely need to, for example after replacing a laptop.

Commercial use is included. You may use AITerm at your job, in your own company and on client work, without a separate agreement. If your team needs several seats, buy one subscription per person.

Personal data handling is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of this agreement.

3. What you may not do

  • Resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute AITerm, or bundle it into another product.
  • Share, publish or sell your licence key, or use one key across several people.
  • Circumvent, disable or tamper with the trial clock, the licence check or the update signature.
  • Decompile or reverse engineer the application, except to the strict extent that French law permits it for interoperability under article L122-6-1 of the Code de la propriété intellectuelle, or where mandatory law otherwise allows it.
  • Use AITerm to break the law, or to attack, overload or probe systems you have no right to touch.

4. The trial

AITerm is fully functional and free for 7 days. No account, no card, no email required. The trial starts the first time you open the app, not when you download it.

One trial per Mac. The start date is anchored on our server against a salted hash of your machine, so moving your system clock does not extend it. The app tolerates being offline for up to 72 hours during the trial, then asks for a connection to confirm where the countdown stands.

When the trial ends the app asks for a licence. Nothing on your disk is touched, moved or deleted. Subscribe a month later and your projects, settings and history are exactly where you left them.

5. Subscription and price

The subscription is 9.99 euros per month, including any applicable tax, for one Mac. It renews automatically each month until you cancel. Payment is taken by Stripe on the day of renewal, using the method you registered.

Prices shown on the site are the prices charged. Depending on your country, Stripe may add or include local VAT, GST or sales tax; your receipt shows the breakdown.

If we change the price, existing subscribers are told by email at least 30 days before it applies, and can cancel before the new price takes effect. A price change never applies retroactively to a period already paid for.

If a payment fails, Stripe retries it. If it keeps failing, the subscription ends and the app returns to its unlicensed state. Your files stay untouched.

6. Cancelling

Cancel from inside AITerm, in one click, with no email to write and nobody to talk to. You can also do it from the Stripe billing portal linked in the app.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your access runs to the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds are covered by the refund and cancellation policy.

7. Agents and your responsibility

AITerm is a terminal manager. It launches and displays the command line tools that are already installed on your Mac, with your user permissions. Those agents can read your files, write to them, run commands, install packages and reach the network.

You decide what to launch and what to approve. You are responsible for what your agents do on your machine and on any system you point them at. Keep backups, use version control, and read what an agent proposes before you let it run. AITerm does not review, filter or vet agent commands and cannot be held responsible for their consequences.

8. Third-party tools

Claude Code, Codex and any other CLI you run inside AITerm are made by other companies. They have their own terms, their own pricing and their own privacy policies, and your relationship with them is separate from this one.

AITerm is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, Apple, GitHub or any other vendor named in the product. If one of those tools changes its interface or its output format, we adapt the app as fast as we reasonably can, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted compatibility.

The Radar panel displays public content from GitHub, Hacker News, YouTube and a public skills directory. We do not author, endorse or verify that content.

9. Updates and availability

AITerm runs locally. It keeps working without an internet connection, apart from licence checks and the features that are obviously online (Radar, quotas, updates).

Updates are delivered through a signed update feed. They may add, change or remove features. We keep macOS compatibility as stated on the site, currently macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon; support for a macOS version can end when Apple stops supporting it.

The website and the licence endpoints are provided without a service level commitment. If the licence service is unreachable, a licensed copy keeps working; it does not lock you out because a server had a bad day.

10. Intellectual property

AITerm, its source code, its interface, its name and its logo remain the property of Jordane Sanson. This agreement grants a right of use, not a transfer of ownership.

Everything you produce with AITerm is yours. We claim no right over your code, your prompts, your output or your projects.

If you send feedback or a feature idea, we may implement it without owing you anything. That is not a claim over anything else you own.

11. Warranty and liability

AITerm is provided as it is described on this site. Beyond the mandatory legal guarantees set out in the next section, we give no additional warranty that the software will be free of defects or fit for a purpose you have not told us about.

To the extent permitted by law, and except in case of fraud, gross negligence or personal injury, our total liability arising out of this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription over the twelve months preceding the event.

We are not liable for indirect damage, lost data, lost profit or lost time caused by commands your agents executed, by a third-party tool changing its behaviour, or by a service we do not control being unavailable.

12. Consumer rights

If you buy as a consumer, nothing in these terms removes your mandatory rights. In particular you keep the legal guarantee of conformity of articles L217-3 and following of the French Code de la consommation, and the guarantee against hidden defects of articles 1641 and following of the Code civil, or the equivalent rights in your own country of residence.

Your right of withdrawal for digital content and how it interacts with immediate access to the app is explained in the refund and cancellation policy.

13. Suspension and termination

You can end this agreement at any time by cancelling and uninstalling the app.

We can suspend or terminate a licence if a key is shared publicly, if the licence check is deliberately bypassed, or if the app is used to commit an offence. When that happens you are told by email at the address attached to the subscription, and any unused paid period is refunded unless the abuse was deliberate.

14. Changes to these terms

These terms can change as the product changes. The version and date at the top of the page always say which text applies. If a change materially affects your rights, subscribers are notified by email at least 30 days in advance and can cancel before it takes effect.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.

If something goes wrong, write to hello@aiterm.app first. Most problems are a misunderstanding and get fixed in one email.

If a dispute cannot be settled that way, the competent courts are those designated by the applicable rules of jurisdiction. Payment disputes are handled by Stripe as merchant of record, under Stripe's own terms.
